Portland Manor

Portland Manor Country Estate is a historical working farm located in Rheenendal, on the Garden Route, some 25 minutes’ drive from the center of Knysna. Set on 212 hectares of farmland, forest and fynbos landscapes, the estate provides elegant ensuite accommodations in the newly refurbished Residence which also has a guest lounge. Rooms are decorated in contemporary Victorian style, a nudge to the history of the property which has a Manor House dating back to 1871. A restaurant, the Cowshed Eatery caters for all meals, and the quaint pub, which was once a sheep shearer’s cottage, serves a delicious pub menu and craft beer on tap. Activities on site include bird watching, hiking and mountain biking on the marked trails, canoeing and catch-and-release bass fishing on the 7-hectare dam, and volleyball. Portland Manor provides an escape from the bustle of the city on a peaceful, tranquil farm in the countryside where you can get active or spend the day lounging at the swimming pool.
